Texas Tech digs deep to hang on against Arizona

That was exhausting. And I mean that literally, with the latest kickoff in program history, and emotionally. At half, Texas Tech had a commanding 18-3 lead. They were in control, looked comfortable on the road, and while the offense was a bit anemic they were finishing drives.

Then everything turned in the second half. Arizona roared back, kicking 4 more field goals and scoring a touchdown. Suddenly in the four quarter, thanks to a missed field goal by Zona, Tech needed a drive to get down the field and salvage the night. The Red Raiders held on thanks to an outstanding throw and catch by Morton to Douglas leading toa field goal, and Jacob Rodriguez making yet another play to strip Arizona to give Tech plus field position and a chance to seal the game. Which Tahj Brooks quickly did on a long run.

Tahj Brooks fumbling twice, a big man hurdling defenders, this game had everything. There was good, bad, ugly, all in the span of like two drives. It was one of the wildest games in recent memory, and the Red Raiders dug deep to find that last gasp to get the job done.
