Two touchdowns, that is the absolute smallest margin I want to see through the first three games of the year. The confidence that would inspire would be immense. Taking on a weak nonconference with ACU, then a depleted and reeling Washington State, then North Texas to start the season should be an easy 3-0 start. Again, knocking on wood, but it would be a disaster to drop any of those games.

Even the Washington State game on the road should be one that Tech controls from start to finish. And it is time to finally shake off the Techism, the bad habit of letting everyone hang on to till the end and potentially beat you. The lesson learned from last season’s meltdown in Laramie should be to twist the knife and keep twisting.

Get that two-score lead, and never let it go. Build it, step on their throat, and rock and roll.
