Offensive Player of the Week: Back in business

Our defensive player of the week was a player returning from injury, so it figures that the offensive player of the week would be as well. And a much hoped for recovery it was as Behren Morton would spark the Texas Tech offense and earn this week’s honors.

Morton was great in this outing, protecting the football, and going 28/36, for 282 yards and 2 TDs. He would call his own number on a read option to pickup a touchdown on the ground as well. His throws to McCray and Price were things of beauty, but really overall his commanding presence and poise seemed to bring some swagger back to the offense. They all played more confident knowing Morton was the one throwing the ball around the yard.

Against a Kansas team flying high on the road, Morton will face a stiff test to help keep Texas Tech in the postseason hunt. But he looked every bit capable of it against the TCU defense.
