Defensive Player of the Week: A star shines in the secondary

The defensive player of the week title is a tough one this week. Several guys made some big plays. Guys like Rodriguez were consistently making UCF pay with big hits, Bradford continues to be a menace, and the young gun Roberts gets better every week.

But, this week’s recipient is out of the secondary and is a guy who has overcome some real adversity this year including a position change. That would be C.J. Baskerville. Baskerville would record 7 total tackles, 5 solo. and PBU and a INT.

He was consistently around the ball last Saturday, and caught the INT thrown right at him. That may not sound like much, but considering the drops in the secondary on those kinds of plays it is a really big deal. Overall, he had a solid game in a night several key defensive cogs did not play or went down. Congrats to the transfer, one more game to put on a show!
