Countdown To Kickoff Day 35: All Hail The Rally Possum

Day 35 brings perhaps the best memory from the previous season, the Rally Possum. In Texas Tech’s 35-28 victory, a surprise visitor broke onto the field and a legend was born. The Rally Possum, as he was soon to be known, was a good omen as Texas Tech road a balanced offensive attack with Behren Morton’s arm and strong running from Tahj Brooks. The possum clearly inspired the team to win ugly, as the little man was not pleased to be dragged off the field and let everyone see his noticeable displeasure.

Taylor-Demerson would be the star on the night, with two INTs. One of his two, with 55 seconds left, occurred as TCU was driving the field for a game tying touchdown. Joey McGuire talks constantly about Take 3 University, and snagging two picks yourself has you top of the class as Take 3 U.

There is something about a Lubbock atmosphere at night, an animal on the field, and a rivalry on the line. Texas Tech hopes to see the rally fox make an appearance on field this season, or maybe the same possum sneaking back in for the good trash to be had.
