Behren Morton has a chance to turn in a season unlike we have seen on the South Plains in a long time. The prayers and well-wishes of all Texas Tech faithful are with his health, as I wrote about a few days ago Tech has not had any luck in that regard. But there is a future king in Lubbock already, learning in the wings waiting to watch Morton soar than take over when it is his turn.

Hammond put up some monster numbers in his senior season, and shocked the nation by outdoing quite a few higher-rated quarterbacks in the Elite 11 camp he was invited to. The early-enrollee was also a key part of the Tech 2024 recruiting class, selling Tech to his fellow classmates especially Mr. Micah Hudson.

I know writing about the future seems like a jinx, but #15 should be commended for sticking to his commitment despite having no idea when Morton will be gone from Red Raiderland opening the door for his playing time.
