College Football: Best Bets In Big Ten For Week 3

The Big Ten continues to look like the best conference in college football early in the season.

The Week 3 AP Poll featured seven teams from the conference, including four in the Top 10. Nebraska was a newcomer to the poll this week after dominating Colorado on Saturday.

There is another full slate ahead in Week 3 with four teams on an early bye week. Below, check out some of the best bets to keep an eye on in the Big Ten this week.

Indiana at UCLA, 7:30pm ET

UCLA was unimpressive in the season-opener against Hawaii on the road before a bye week. As for Indiana, the offense unloaded on FCS Western Illinois to the tune of 703 yards and 77 points. Kurtis Rourke played a perfect game while the ground game got going early and often. The line is lower than it should be given the fact that this game will be played at the Rose Bowl but Indiana will come out on top.

Pick: Indiana ML

Notre Dame at Purdue, 3:30pm ET

A loss to Northern Illinois is something that will stick with Notre Dame and its fans over the course of the season. For anyone looking to bet this matchup with Purdue, it will have to be put on the back burner. With that being said, a short trip to Purdue will be difficult for the Irish. Purdue is coming off a bye week early in the season and could keep this game closer than expected.

Pick: Purdue +11.5

Arkansas State at Michigan, Noon ET

Michigan has struggled early in the season. Let’s not forget that Fresno State was going in during a 23-10 game before throwing a pick six. And of course, we saw what happened last week at The Big House. Michigan will be home once again this week and will need to unload on a team. Also consider the over in this game at 45.5 but expect the Wolverines to come out big.

Pick: Michigan -24

Alabama at Wisconsin, Noon ET

Wisconsin has played well defensively to begin the season. The offense has not clicked just yet but the signs are there for both Tyler Van Dyke and Chez Mellusi to begin leading the way. This week, Wisconsin plays arguably its biggest game on the schedule as Alabama comes to Camp Randall. The Crimson Tide slept walked through South Florida last week. It will be interesting to see if it was a bit of a lookahead spot for Alabama but Wisconsin defending home field could keep the Badgers within the number.

Pick: Wisconsin +16.5

Oregon at Oregon State, 3:30pm ET

Oregon came into the season with hopes of winning a national championship and has not looked the part early on. The 2-0 Ducks are lucky to be where they are after a 10-point win over lowly Idaho and a last-second victory over Boise State. The good news is that Oregon is finding ways to win games. The bad news for bettors, the Ducks have not been within the number. Another large spread in a rivalry matchup on the road leads to a cover for the home team.

Pick: Oregon State +16.5
