College Football: Best Bets In Big 12 For Week 3
The Big 12 has become a conference at the forefront given the scheduling. That will continue on Friday night with some big-tie matchups to jumpstart another exciting Saturday of college football.
Below, check out some of the best bets in the Big 12 for Week 3.
Pittsburgh vs. West Virginia
The Backyard Brawl is one of the great rivalries in college football. These two teams are separated by just 70 miles and this makes for an exciting matchup.
West Virginia entered the season as a trendy underdog but was run over by Penn State on its hoe field. Now, the Mountaineers are a slight favorite against Pitt. The Panthers totaled nearly 500 yards in Week 2 against Cincinnati. The offense has been off to a hot start with freshmen Eli Holstein under center.
Pitt is a slight underdog here and it is a good spot to take the moneyline at +105. Otherwise, take the 1.5.
Pick: Pitt +1.5 OR ML (+105)
Texas Tech vs. North Texas
It was a poor performance for Texas Tech during a three-touchdown loss to Washington State. This might make some fade the Red Raiders in Week 3 but this is a good spot to go the other way. Texas Tech enters as a nine-point favorite against North Texas. It is a get-right spot for the Red Raiders here. Buy low on Tech and enjoy the outcome.
Pick: Texas Tech -9
Colorado at Colorado State
It was a classic overtime matchup between these two in-state rivals last season. Colorado State went toe-to-toe with the Buffaloes and could have pulled this game out in the end. It ended up being a 43-35 win for Colorado but times have changed. Colorado has struggled offensively. The offensive line is playing at a low level and Sheduer Sanders is not getting the ball to weapons.
This is an intriguing spot to take Colorado State getting a touchdown, get it at 7.5 if possible, but the under can also be the play here.
Pick: Under 59.5
UNLV at Kansas
The Friday night matchup features a Kansas team coming off a bad loss to Illinois in Week 2. The Jayhawks will return home looking to get on the right track. This begins with Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year Jalon Daniels. As for UNLV, it scored 72 points against lowly Utah Tech last week. There will be some points in this one.
Pick: Over 58.5
