CM Punk, Drew McIntyre Deliver Lots of Bad Blood

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre took the title of WWE’s Bad Blood show literally last night.

Evoking the bloody “Last Battle of Atlanta” between Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer from 1983, Punk and McIntyre opened the show with a Hell in a Cell match.

Punk bled first, but then he smashed Drew with a toolbox, busting him wide open. Punk finally won after wrapping a chain around his knee before hitting Go To Sleep for the win.

After the bout, Punk collapsed in the aisle and received medical attention.

WHO’S THE REAL TRIBAL CHIEF?

The Bloodline battle closed the show, as WWE champion Cody Rhodes teamed with the “Original Tribal Chief,” Roman Reigns.

The WrestleMania XL opponents took on Jacob Fatu and the current Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa.

Jimmy Uso returned to run off the other Bloodline members, allowing Roman to spear Sikoa for the pin.

The Rock showed up after the match, seeming to tell all of the Samoans that he’s the real boss. He also held up the “1-2-3” fingers to remind everyone that he pinned Cody Rhodes on the first night of WrestleMania XL.

PINATA PARTY

Dominick Mysterio was suspended above ringside in a shark cage as Liv Morgan defended the World women’s title against Rhea Ripley.

Dirty Dom picked the lock but then found himself hanging upside down from the cage. Ripley grabbed a kendo stick from under the ring.

“Happy birthday to me!” she said before beating Dom like a pinata.

Raquel Rodriguez attacked Rhea to cause Morgan to get disqualified and hang onto the title.

Damien Priest beat former Judgment Day teammate Finn Balor with the South of Heaven chokeslam.

Nia Jax convinced Tiffany Stratton not to cash in the Monday in the Bank briefcase during the Nia-Bayley match for the WWE women’s title. Jax won with the Annihilator sitdown splash in the corner.

CROWN JEWEL

Triple H announced that the Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Nov. 3 would feature the champions of Raw and Smackdown battling each other.

So, if no titles change hands before then, we will see Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther and Liv Morgan vs. Nia Jax in Saudi Arabia. The winners will receive special “Crown Jewel” title belts.

Gunther came out during this segment and goaded Bill Goldberg to come out from his ringside seat for a pull-apart brawl.

Maybe we’ll see that matchup at WrestleMania 41.
