When I attended AEW Collision in Youngstown, Ohio, last month, Christian Cage targeted the AEW Trios championship.

Last night, he achieved his goal.

Christian, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne (The Patriarchy) won the vacant belts with a victory over Juice Robinson & The Gunns (The Bang Bang Gang).

Nick’s mother, Shayna Wayne, was instrumental in the victory. She squirted hairspray in Juice’s eyes, allowing Cage to hit the Killswitch move (reverse pedigree) to win the championship.

FEELING BLUE

Skye Blue had a great opportunity to defeat three-time AEW women’s champion Hikaru Shida. Unfortunately, Blue suffered an ankle injury, and the match was stopped.

Later in the evening, Shida challenged Britt Baker for a match at this Wednesday’s Dynamite show.

Darby Allin won the opening bout, pinning The Beast Mortos after a Coffin Drop. Allin issued a challenge to Jack Perry for the TNT title at the All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium in London on Aug. 25.

This show began a series of Collision and Ring Of Honor events that will take in the same arena: Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

As a result, the show had some Lucha Libre flavor. Rey Fenix defeated Tony Nese with a frog splash, and masked newcomer Hologram defeated Gringo Loco.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated archrival Thunder Rosa in a lumberjack match. Taya Valkyrie handed Purrazzo an extra turnbuckle as a weapon to score the victory.

Speaking of ROH, Roderick Strong beat Tomohiro Ishii with a knee strike. Strong will challenge Mark Briscoe for the ROH title this Friday at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view in Arlington.

Briscoe will have a busy week, as he will also participate in the annual Blood & Guts double cage match this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Briscoe, Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin and The Acclaimed (Team AEW) will take on The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and “Hangman” Adam Page (The Elite).
