Chris Jericho Recaptures Ring Of Honor World Championship

Chris Jericho won his ninth career world title, defeating Mark Briscoe for the Ring Of Honor championship on AEW Dynamite last night.

Briscoe had defeated Jericho at the WrestleDream pay-per-view, but Jericho goaded the champion into a Ladder War rematch by mentioning Mark’s deceased brother, Jay Briscoe.

During the match, Big Bill put Briscoe through a table, clearing the path for Jericho to climb the ladder and win his second ROH title.

MOX WORLD ORDER

One of WCW’s problems in its fight against the new World order (nWo) was that the good guys didn’t band together to fight the invaders.

AEW didn’t have this problem, as a large group of wrestlers stood guard all night at one entrance waiting for Jon Moxley and his crew.

Unfortunately, Team Mox used a different entrance to get into the building and attack Daniel Garcia and Private Party after the main event.

Private Party & Garcia won that match over The Elite (Young Bucks & Jack Perry). Next week on Fright Night Dynamite, Private Party (Zay & Quen) must either win the AEW tag team title from the Bucks or go their separate ways.

PREPARE FOR A FRIGHT

Shelton Benjamin scored his second AEW victory, defeating ROH tag team champion Sammy Guevara. Benjamin will face former AEW World champion Swerve Strickland next week in Cleveland.

Similarly, Kamille (Mercedes Mone’s bodyguard) defeated Queen Aminata. Next week, Kamille will battle Kris Statlander.

Kyle Fletcher shaved his own head while cutting a promo (delivering a wrestling speech) on Will Ospreay. Fletcher came into AEW as a member of the Aussie Open tag team with Mark Davis, but he is breaking out as a singles wrestler.

Brian Cage & Lance Archer won a squash, and so did The House of Black. After that match, House member Buddy Matthews challenged Adam Cole for next week.

Earlier in the night, Cole reunited with The Undisputed Kingdom. MJF challenged Cole and Roderick Strong. Whichever of them scores three straight wins will wrestle MJF at the Full Gear pay-per-view on Nov. 23.
