Chris Jericho, Mercedes Mone Star in Wild California Wrestling Weekend

Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance at Game Changer Wrestling’s “Highest in the Room 3” event in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Jericho, one of the top stars in All Elite Wrestling, will defend his Ring Of Honor championship against Matt Cardona this Friday at the Final Battle pay-per-view.

Cardona was wrestling Effy in the main event of the GCW show when Jericho attacked both men.

It looked like GCW and AEW were not on good terms. AEW had pulled Ricky Starks from this show, with Cardona taking his place.

This seemed to stem from Effy’s recent belittling comments about AEW/ROH boss Tony Khan.

Now we don’t really know what’s going to happen next, and that’s when pro wrestling is at its best.

NEW JAPAN in CALIFORNIA

Mercedes Mone, another top AEW star, headlined the Strong Style Evolved show on Sunday night in Long Beach.

She holds the TBS title in AEW, and she successfully defended the New Japan Strong women’s title in the main event against Hazuki in a battle that lasted almost 30 minutes.

Mone will defend her Strong title against Mina Shirakawa at Wrestle Dynasty on Jan. 5 in Tokyo. Mina’s RevPro British title will also be on the line.

AEW stars Jack Perry and Konosuke Takeshita teamed up to defeat Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji.

The Young Bucks appeared after the match. They will try to regain their place on top of New Japan’s tag team scene at Wrestle Dynasty.
