Bills Get 4th Straight Win as Bass hits Game Winning Field Goal

The Bills were back in action at home on Sunday night against their division rivals the struggling Miami Dolphins. This was the second game between the 2 teams I the season as the first game was in Miami where there Bills dominated the Dolphins and it was the game where Tua got his concussion leaving him injured until last week. However, in the case of The Bills they were hoping to continue their productive offence as the scored more than 30 points in their last 2 games. It looked to be a spirited match between the 2 rivals, with the Bills as the favourites and the Dolphins hoping to prove everyone wrong and potentially save Mike McDaniels job in the process.

The 1st quarter started off with the Bills  getting the ball on offence, but having no offence and having to kick a punt. The Dolphins took the field for the first drive but it was the same story as the Bills held them on defence to force a punt, to continue their strong defensive performance as well, as they only allowed 10 points against the Seahawks and 10 against the Titans. On the first play of offence for the Bills, Allen led Buffalo to the Dolphins red zone but was stopped on 3rd and 3 for a sack and they had to settle for a 40 yard field goal by Tyler Bass, to make it 3-0 Bills getting off to an early start. Back on defence there Bills were hoping to get multiple stops, but the Dolphins led a pretty promising drive to the bills red zone where they were sacked on 3rd and 1, and had to settle for a 39 yard field goal by Jason Sanders to make the score all tied up at 3-3. This was with 2:03 left in the 1st quarter and on offence the bills continued their offence all the way to the second quarter.

In the second quarter The Bills continued there strong offence as they led a drive all the way to the Dolphins red zone but on 1st goal Allen was looking for Keon Coleman but he bobbled it and it went right in the hands of Jalen Ramsey who picked it off for the interception. The Dolphins were hoping to turn that defensive stop into the score and that s exactly what they did as they led a 8 minute drive all the way to the Bills red zone on first and goal where Tua made a short pass off a inside and go route that was perfectly designed for Devon Achane who made the grab and took it all the way to the end zone for a 14 yard touchdown, making the Dolphins get their first lead of the game to go up 10-3. With 3:22 left in the half the Bills were hoping to quickly respond as they led a drive to the Dolphins side of the field but were ultimately forced to settle for a field goal on 4th and 30, as Tyler Bass connected with his second of the game as he made a 49 yard field goal to make the game 10-6 going into the half.

After the break, The Dolphins were receiving the ball and hoping to continue from their last touchdown but on first and 10 after 2 minutes into the quarter Tua handled the ball to Raheem Mostert but on his run as he escaped some of the Bills defenders but Aaron Johnson on the Bills went to his right side and punched the ball out, where Kair Elam fell on the ball to complete the turnover. This was a much needed stop for the Bills to get momentum back as they were back on offence in great field position hoping to connect from there defences stop. On offence, Allen led the bills all the way to the goal line but were stopped on 3rd and goal. However, they decided to go for it on 4th down as Allen faked the throw to Shakir and threw to his left connecting with Mack Hollins for the impressive goal line touchdown to make the Bills regain the lead as they went up 12-10. However, on the extra point attempt Bass shanked in to the left with the wind, making the score stay the same with 7:20 in the 3rd quarter. The Dolphins are back on offence and they were hoping to create some sort of response to the Bills last drive. They led a drive all the way to the 23 yard line but were stopped on 3rd down and forced to settle for a 23 yard field goal by Jason Sanders, to make it 13-12 Dolphins in this back and forth contest with 2:59 left in the quarter. However. the Bills were back on offence again hoping to score on back to back drives. On Allen”s second play of the drive on second and 3 he threw to Ray Davis on his right side and there was no defenders on that side, and Davis only had to make one man miss in Marcus Maye and he did as he broke the tackle and sprinted all the way to the end zone for a 63 yard touchdown making it 18-13 Bills. On the extra point attempt the Bills decided to go for 2 as they didn’t want another missed PAT and they converted as Allen threw to Coleman to make it 20-13, basically ending off the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th quarter, The Dolphins continued their offence from the 3rd and led a drive all the way to the Bills red zone on the 8 yard line on 1st and goal where Tua handed the ball off to Devon Achane who made his way into the end zone for his second score of the game. One receiving touchdown, one rushing touchdown, to make the score all knotted up at 20-20. Back on offence the Bills led a 6 minute drive all the way to the Dolphins red zone where Allen faked handing to off rushed, and before getting tackled threw it abruptly to Quintin Morris, the Tight end who caught it for the 2 yard touchdown, making the score 27-20 Bills with 6:28 left in the game. Now on offence the Dolphins had to score to keep the game going and they also had a pretty great drive where they moved the ball all the way to the Bills red zone where with a 1:41 left they got the ball to first and goal where Tua found Jaylen Waddle for the 7 yard touchdown to make the game all knotted up at 27-27. Now the Bills only had 1 timeout remaining to get the ball close to field yard range and they did the best they could creating some good throws, but only got it to make a 61 yard field goal attempt for Tyler Bass. Now Bass stepped up with 10 seconds left and iced it as he converted the 61 yard field goal to make the Bills go up 30- 27 with 10 seconds left effectively finishing the game.

Now with the win the Bills get their 4th straight win as they improve to 7-2, they hope to continue there winning streak as they go back on the road where they play the Indianapolis Colts at 1:00 on Sunday the 10th.
