Best Chances For NFL Upsets During Week 4

The NFL season is preparing to begin Week 4 on Thursday night with the Dallas Cowboys traveling to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants.

Dallas enters as a favorite in the contest but this does not mean that the Giants cannot compete. As we have seen over the first three weeks, there have been many upsets already and anyone can beat anyone.

It is likely that this week will be no different. There are many chances for more upsets and below, check out some prime examples.

New York Giants (+5.5) vs. Dallas Cowboys

Ask a Giants fan and he might not believe this one is possible. On the other hand, Cowboy fans should be concerned with how this season is playing out. The defense is vulnerable to the run and the offense does not have a threat of its own in the backfield. Anything can happen within a division and that includes the lowly Giants picking up a win here. New York’s defense has been able to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks and that will bet important once again in hopes of making Dak Prescott uncomfortable.

Carolina Panthers (+4.5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have already been upset twice this season. Coming off a Monday night loss to the Washington Commanders, the Bengals will hit the road to take on the Carolina Panthers, who seemed rejuvenated with Andy Dalton under center. This is Dalton’s return to Cincinnati and he will do it as the starting quarterback. The defense for the Bengals was exposed against Washington and an 0-3 Bengal team could see the season get away from them early.

Los Angeles Chargers (+7) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have played three close games to this point of the season. By rights, Kansas City could have started 0-3 but at the end of the day, the quarterback wins games. Now, the Chiefs will play its first division game in Los Angeles against Jim Harbaugh and the new-look Chargers. This is a rivalry that has been dominated by Kansas City but this is a good spot for Harbaugh and the Chargers to make that first statement with the new regime running the show.

Indianapolis Colts (+2) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

This is barely an upset but the Indianapolis Colts are home dogs against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is a team that has played tremendous defense but struggled offensively over the first three weeks. The defense has led Pittsburgh to a 3-0 start and it will go up against a second-year quarterback that is essentially a rookie. Anthony Richardson has played in just seven games and has seen it be a roller coaster. It will be difficult to generate big plays against the Steelers but this is not an offense that is going to run away. At home, the Colts could steal one in the end.
