Awkward Christmas: William Regal Causes Son to Lose NXT Heritage Cup

William Regal has been trying to teach his villainous ways to Lexis King, who ended up winning the NXT Heritage Cup last night.

Weeks ago, Regal tried to convince King to use brass knuckles. King’s father was Brian Pillman, who broke rules as a member of The Four Horsemen and The Hart Foundation.

King challenged Charlie Dempsey for the Cup, and Regal offered to be in King’s corner.

Have I mentioned that Dempsey is Regal’s son?

The Heritage Cup is contested under the British rounds system, and neither wrestler could score a pin in the first three rounds.

In Round 4, Regal placed the brass knuckles on King’s hand (again, to use against HIS OWN SON).

King refused, so Regal punched him. The knuckles went flying to Dempsey, who picked them up, got disqualified, and lost the Cup.

CHRISTMAS CHAOS

OTM (Lucien Price & Bronco Nima) are the new top contenders to the NXT tag team title held by Nathan Frazier & Axiom.

They won a four-way Christmas Chaos match over Hank Walker & Tank Ledger, No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights & Myles Borne; and The Family’s Luca Crucifino & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Santa Claus attacked Tony D’Angelo at ringside during the match. Don’t worry, kids, it was Ridge Holland in disguise.

OTM will get the title shot at New Year’s Evil on Jan. 7 in Los Angeles.

WOMEN’S ACTION

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Cora Jade with a neckbreaker. Jade’s night got worse when Kelani Jordan attacked her with a kendo stick.

Former NXT women’s tag team champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn beat Fatal Influence (Jasmyn Nyx & Jacy Jayne).

Five other wrestlers came down to ringside to join Fallon Henley, who was in Fatal Influence’s corner.

Gigi Dolan knocked her former partner, Jayne, off the top rope, and the Unholy Union won the match.

Ashante “Thee” Adonis beat Dion Lennox. They have been involved in a love triangle situation with Nikkita Lyons.

At the end of the show, Trick Williams agreed to defend the NXT title against Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe in a triple threat match at New Year’s Evil.
