Atlanta Dream Guard Allisha Gray Makes History Winning Both 3Pt and Skills Contest

In 2024, Allisha Gray will earn $185,000 from the Atlanta Dream. Last night at WNBA All-Star Friday night, Gray racked up $115K by becoming the first player in league history to win both the skills and three-point contest on the same night.

Gray advanced to the final of the skills contest after finishing with a field-best time of 31.2 seconds. In a dominant first-round performance, Gray finished four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher Phoenix Mercury’s Sophie Cunningham.

With the hometown favorite Cunningham into the final against Allisha Gray, the crowd at the Footprint Center in Phoenix was going wild after Cunningham called them out prior to the final round.

“Y’all I thought you were pretty quiet,” Cunningham said to the crowd after her first round.

Despite having the crowd behind her, Sophie Cunningham would struggle from deep and finish with a time of 34.5 seconds, clearing the way for Allisha Gray to score 32.1 seconds and take home the skills contest.

Next up was the 3-point contest with some notable stars missing as both Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu were not participating.

Liberty big Jonquel Jones surprisingly put up 25 points in the first round, setting herself up in the final with Gray who scored 23.

Shooting first in the final, Gray went for 22 points, setting the mark for Jones.

With just one ball left Jones had an opportunity to tie it but fired just short off the front rim as Allisha Gray came out on top.

“(Jones) had me nervous, I’m not going to lie,” Gray admitted after narrowly winning the contest.

“It feels amazing. Another $55K in my pocket,” Gray said when talking about the $55K bonus for winning each competition.
