Around the NFC South: Week 6
The Atlanta Falcons improved to 4-2 with their 38-20 win over the Carolina Panthers. Kirk Cousins was really good once again with 225 yards passing and a touchdown. Atlanta remains committed to using both Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson. Allgeier had 18 carries for 105 yards and a touchdown. Robinson had 15 carries for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Drake London continued his second year jump with six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. For the Panthers, Andy Dalton threw for 221 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Diontae Johnson continued his success with Dalton under center catching six passes for 78 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons play the Seattle Seahawks next week while the Panthers play the Washington Commanders.
In a wild game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also improved to 4-2 when they beat the New Orleans Saints 51-27. Baker Mayfield threw for 325 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Chris Godwin caught 11 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. With Rachaad White out, the Buccaneers split the carries between Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving each had 14 carries. Tucker turned those carries into 136 yards and a touchdown. Irving finished with 81 yards and a touchdown of his own. Spencer Rattler drew the start for the Saints and threw for 243 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. New Orleans was only able to rush for 81 yards in the loss. The Buccaneers play the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football next week and the Saints play the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football.
