Around the NFC South: Week 4
Baker Mayfield had another great game in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Mayfield threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both had big games with eight and six catches respectively. Both Bucky Irving and Rachaad White had ten carries for 49 yards. Irving was able to find the end zone in the win. The Tampa Bay defense sacked Jalen Hurts six times on the afternoon. The Buccaneers play the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football this week.
Speaking of the Falcons, they got a big division win this week 26-24 over the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons did not get an offensive touchdown on the day but did get a touchdown from both their defense and their special teams. Kirk Cousins threw for 238 yards and an interception in the win. His favorite target was Drake London who had six catches for 64 yards. For the Saints, Derek Carr had a very similar line to Cousins. He threw for 239 yards and an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Alvin Kamara had 119 total yards and a touchdown in the loss. The Saints travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs on Monday Night Football in week five.
The Carolina Panthers could not carry the magic from week three over to week four. They fell 34-24 to the Cincinnati Bengals. It was another solid performance from Andy Dalton who threw for 220 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Diontae Johnson caught seven passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. Xavier Legette also got his first career receiving touchdown. Chuba Hubbard pitched in 104 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Panthers play the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
