Around the NFC West: Week 3
It’s a 3-0 start for the Seattle Seahawks. They knocked off the Miami Dolphins 24-3 this week. Geno Smith was not great in this game throwing for 289 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, but it did not matter because the Dolphins could do nothing against Seattle’s defense that racked up six sacks in the game. It was another big day for wide receiver DK Metcalf who had four catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Seattle travels to Detroit to take on the Lions on Monday Night Football this week.
The Arizona Cardinals dropped to 1-2 with their 20-13 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It was another good game for rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. who had five catches for 64 yards. Michael Wilson actually led the team in receptions with eight on the afternoon. Kyler Murray threw for 207 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Cardinals play the Washington Commanders in week 4.
Even with injuries mounting, the Los Angeles Rams found a way to take down the San Francisco 49ers 27-24. The Rams scored 13 fourth quarter points to secure the victory. Matthew Stafford threw for 221 yards and a touchdown. With both Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua missing this game due to injuries, TuTu Atwell led the Rams’ receivers with four catches for 93 yards. Kyren Williams added two touchdowns on the ground. For the 49ers, it was a massive day for Jauan Jennings. He had 11 catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns. He stepped up big time with both Deebo Samuel and George Kittle missing the game. The Rams take on the Green Bay Packers in week four while the 49ers play host to the New England Patriots.
