Around the NFC South: Week 14
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their third straight game 28-13 over the Las Vegas Raiders. Baker Mayfield threw for 295 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Cade Otton had three catches for 70 yards. Mike Evans had four catches for 69 yards. Rachaad White took back the lead in the Buccaneers’ backfield and had seventeen carries for 90 yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers this week.
It was a fourth straight loss for the Atlanta Falcons 42-21 to the Minnesota Vikings. Kirk Cousins did throw for 344 yards but did not throw a touchdown and threw two interceptions. It was a massive day for Darnell Mooney who caught six passes for 142 yards. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier both scored rushing touchdowns in the loss. The Falcons take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football in week 15.
The New Orleans Saints got a 14-11 win over the New York Giants on Sunday. Derek Carr threw for 219 yards with a touchdown and an interception before being forced to leave the game with a concussion. His status for week 15 is up in the air. Alvin Kamara was held in check with just 44 yards on 17 carries. Kendre Miller carried the ball ten times for 32 yards and a touchdown in his return from injured reserve. The Saints take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Bryce Young continues to improve but the Carolina Panthers fell 22-16 to the Philadelphia Eagles. Young threw for 191 yards with one touchdown and one interception. It was a tough day for Jonathan Brooks who had one carry for -3 yards before leaving the game after re-tearing his ACL. Chubba Hubbard continued his excellent play with 92 yards and a touchdown. Adam Thielen eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark with nine catches for 102 yards. The Panthers play the Dallas Cowboys in week 15.
