Around the NFC North: Week 8
The Detroit Lions won their fifth straight 52-14 over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Jahmyr Gibbs carried the ball 11 times for 127 yards and a 70-yard touchdown run. Jared Goff only threw for 85 yards but he did throw three touchdowns. The Lions were great on special teams and forced four turnovers, so they did not need much from Goff in this one. The Lions take on the Green Bay Packers in week nine.
Malik Willis took over for an injured Jordan Love and led a seven-play 64-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal as the Green Bay Packer knocked off the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-27. Josh Jacobs rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Tucker Kraft led the pass catchers with three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. The news on Love was pretty good and there is a chance he could be back for the game against the Lions.
Sam Darnold threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns but the Minnesota Vikings lost 30-20 to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. Justin Jefferson had a big night catching eight passes for 115 yards. The Vikings could not get much going on the ground rushing for just 64 yards on 22 carries. Minnesota will look to get back on track Sunday when they host the Indianapolis Colts.
Caleb Williams did not have a good game, but it was enough for the Chicago Bears to get a win until Jayden Daniels pulled off a miracle Hail Mary. The Bears lost 18-15. Williams finished the day with 131 passing yards. He also ran for 41 yards. D’Andre Swift had a really good game rushing for 129 yards and a touchdown. Rome Odunze led the receivers with three catches for 41 yards. The Bears travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals on Sunday.
