Around the NFC North: Week 2

The Minnesota Vikings improved to 2-0 with a 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Sam Darnold seems to be thriving in his new home. He threw for 268 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. One of the touchdown passes was a 97-yard strike to Justin Jefferson. It was a good throw and a great effort by Jefferson to take it to the house. Jefferson ended the day with 133 yards on four catches. The Vikings’ defense also came up big sacking Brock Purday six times. The Vikings host the Houston Texans in week three.

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions suffered their first loss of the season 20-16 at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Goff threw for 307 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss. After a quiet week one, Amon-Ra St, Brown had a huge game in week two. He caught 11 passes for 119 yards. Jameson Williams continued his early season success with five catches for 79 yards. They are becoming one of the best receiving duos in the NFL. The Lions head to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in week three.

Caleb Williams has yet to throw a touchdown pass through his first two NFL games. He threw for 174 yards and two interceptions in the Chicago Bears’ 19-13 loss to the Houston Texans. Williams was sacked seven times in the loss. The Bears did a lot to make the weapons in the passing game around him better this offseason. They should probably look to invest in the offensive line this offseason. The Bears travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in week three.

Malik Willis threw his first career touchdown pass in the Green Bay Packers 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Willis, filling in for the injured Jordan Love, threw for 122 yards and a touchdown. He was not asked to do much because Josh Jacobs had a huge game rushing finishing with 151 yards on 32 carries. Willis added 41 yards on the ground in the win. The Packers play the Tennessee Titans in week three.
