Around the NFC East: Week 9
The Washington Commanders won their third straight 27-22 over the New York Giants. Jayden Daniels threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Both touchdowns were caught by Terry McLaurin, but it was Noah Browns who led the Washington receivers with five catches for 60 yards. For the Giants, Daniel Jones threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Star rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers had nine catches for 59 yards. The Commanders take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 10 while the Giants travel to Germany to take on the Carolina Panthers.
It was a fourth straight win for the Philadelphia Eagles 28-23 over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jalen Hurts accounted for three total touchdowns. He threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 67 and a touchdown. Saquon Barkley was outstanding again rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown. He added three catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys on Sunday.
Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, they lost their third straight 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons. In the process, they also lost Dak Prescott for the foreseeable future to a hamstring injury. Cooper Rush will be the Cowboys’ starter while Prescott is out. Rush threw for 115 yards and a touchdown in relief. CeeDee Lamb had eight catches in the contest but they only went for 47 yards.
