Around the NFC East: Week 8

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders pulled off a miracle to beat the Chicago Bears 18-15 on a last-second Hail Mary to Noah Brown. Daniels, who was not expected to play early in the week because of a rib injury, threw for 326 yards and a touchdown. Terry McLaurin continued his 2024 success with five catches for 125 yards. The Commanders travel to New York to take on the Giants in week nine.

Speaking of the Giants, they lost their third straight to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-18 on Monday Night Football. Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. had a big night with 145 rushing yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with a concussion. Darius Slayton led the way on the receiving side for the Giants with four catches for 108 yards. It was another big night for Malik Nabers as well with seven catches for 71 yards.

The Philadelphia Eagles got a 37-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Jalen Hurts accounted for four touchdowns in the win – three rushing and one passing. DeVonta Smith was on the receiving end of that touchdown en route to his six catch for 85 yards afternoon. Saquon Barkley added 108 yards on the ground. The Eagles host the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.

Will Mike McCarthy make it through the season as the Dallas Cowboys head coach? It looks less likely with each loss. The Cowboys dropped their second straight this week 30-24 to the San Francisco 49ers. Dak Prescott threw for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. CeeDee Lamb had a huge game with 13 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Dallas only managed 56 yards on the ground in the loss. The Cowboys play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
