Around the NFC East: Week 2

Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels got his first career win on Sunday as the Washington Commanders beat the New York Giants 21-18. Daniels threw for 226 yards and ran for 44 in the win. The Commanders also got 133 yards from Brian Robinson Jr. on 17 carries. The real hero of the day for Washington was kicker Austin Seibert who was a perfect 7 for 7 on field goals accounting for all of the Commanders’ points. For the Giants, it was a much better week for Daniel Jones. He finished the game with 178 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception. Malik Nabers caught 10 passes on 18 targets for 127 yards. Nabers looks to be a stud through the first two weeks of his NFL career. The Commanders head to Cincinnati to play the Bengals on Monday Night Football in week 3 while the Giants play the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys got rocked by the New Orleans Saints 44-19 in week two. It was a tough day for the Cowboys all the way around. Dak Prescott threw for 293 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was replaced by Cooper Rush in the fourth quarter after the game was out of hand. The Dallas rushing attack was ineffective gaining just 68 yards on 21 carries. CeeDee Lamb score the Cowboys lone touchdown in the Lone Star State. The Cowboys take on the Baltimore Ravens this week.

This Philadelphia Eagles snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on Monday night when they lost 22-21 to the Atlanta Falcons. Saquon Barkley dropped a third down pass late in the fourth quarter that would have put the game away. Instead, they kicked a field goal before allowing Kirk Cousins to march 70 yards on six plays for the game winning touchdown. Philadelphia did get the ball back with a chance to re-take the lead, but Jalen Hurts threw an interception that ended the game. The Eagles travel to New Orleans to play the Saints this Sunday.
