Around the NFC East: Week 1

Saquon Barkley had a fantastic debut with the Philadelphia Eagles. He had 132 total yards and three total touchdowns in the 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers. His quarterback, Jalen Hurts, also threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith combined for 12 catches for 203 yards and a touchdown. That Philadelphia offense is going to be a problem for teams all season long. The Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in week two.

The Dallas Cowboys gave Dak Prescott a new contract and he rewarded them by leading them to a 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns. Dak threw for 179 yards and a touchdown on the day but the Dallas defense was the story of the day. They piled up six sacks and two interceptions from Deshaun Watson. The Cowboys play the New Orleans Saints in week two.

It was a tough debut for Jayden Daniels with the Washington Commanders. They lost 37-20 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Daniels struggled through the air, he was good running the ball. He rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Terry McLaurin was held to just two catches for 17 yards on four targets. The Commanders will need to get him more involved going forward if they want to have success on offense. They will get that chance to do that on Sunday when they play the New York Giants.

Malik Nabers had a pretty good day against the Minnesota Vikings with five catches for 66 yards. That is about the only positive thing you can say about the New York Giants in their 28-6 loss. Daniel Jones completed just 52% of his passes and threw two interceptions. They were only able to gain 74 yards on the ground. Their defense was only able to sack Sam Darnold once and allowed him to complete 79% of his passes. They will look to get on track when they take on the Commanders in week two.
