Around the AFC West: Week 7
Patrick Mahomes has not been at his best to start the 2024 season, but the Kansas City Chiefs have still started 6-0. This week they beat the San Francisco 49ers 28-18 on a day where Mahomes threw for just 154 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He did run for one touchdown. Kareem Hunt had a good day with 78 yards and two touchdowns. This Chiefs defense played really well picking off Brock Purdy three times. The Chiefs the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Speaking of the Raiders, they lost 20-15 to the Los Angeles Rams. Aidan O’Connell started the game but was replaced by Gardner Minshew after an injury. Minshew threw three interceptions in the loss. He also lost a fumble. Brock Bowers continued his early season success with ten catches for 93 yards.
The Denver Broncos got a 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in week seven. Javonte Williams had 111 yards from scrimmage with two rushing touchdowns. Bo Nix threw for 164 yards and ran for 75 in the win. The Denver defense sacked Spencer Rattler six times in the win. The Broncos host the Carolina Panthers in week eight.
Justin Herbert threw for 349 yards but the Los Angeles Chargers lost 17-15 to the Arizona Cardinals. Will Dissly caught eight passes for 81 yards. While they enjoyed great success through the air, they could not get anything going on the ground rushing for only 59 yards. The Chargers play the Saints on Sunday.
