Around the AFC West: Week 17
It was a Merry Christmas for the Kansas City Chiefs when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10 on Christmas Day. Patrick Mahomes had one of his best games of the season throwing for 320 yards and three touchdowns. Mahomes and Xavier Worthy have really developed chemistry in the last few weeks. The rookie wide receiver had eight catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs end their regular season against the Denver Broncos.
Speaking of the Broncos, they took a tough overtime loss 30-24 against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 17. Bo Nix had another solid game throwing for 219 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and running for 31 yards. It was a big game for Marvin Mims who caught eight passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Denver can clinch a playoff spot with a win this week.
The Los Angeles Chargers clinched a spot in the postseason with their 40-7 win over the New England Patriots. Justin Herber was on fire throwing for 281 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target was Ladd McConkey who caught eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns. The Chargers will take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
The Las Vegas Raiders won a second straight game 25-10 over the New Orleans Saints. Brock Bowers caught seven passes for 77 yards and broke the rookie receiving yards record for a tight end. Jacoby Meyers caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.
