Around the AFC West: Week 1

The San Francisco 49ers got off to another fast start with a 32-19 win over the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Jordan Mason, filling in for Christian McCaffery, carried the ball 28 times for 147 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel also added a touchdown on the ground. It was big night for kicker Jake Moody who hit all six of his field goal attempts. The 49ers play the Minnesota Vikings in week two.

Kenneth Walker III ran for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Seattle Seahawks 26-20 win over the Denver Broncos. It was a pretty quiet day for Geno Smith who threw for just 171 yards but when the ground game is ripping off almost 4.5 yards per carry you do not need to do a lot through the air. The Seahawks travel to New England to take on the Patriots in week two.

The Los Angeles Rams lost Puka Nacua in their 26-20 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions. It was a huge night for Cooper Kupp who had 14 catches and 110 yards on 21 targets. You can probably expect more of the same for Kupp with Nacua out for the next month. Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards in the loss. The Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals in week two.

Marvin Harrison, Jr. was wide open at the end of the Cardinals game in week one, but Kyler Murray did not see him and they lost 34-28 to the Buffalo Bills. Murray threw for 162 yards and ran for 57 yards in the loss. Harrison had just one catch for four yards. They Cardinals will need more from him if they are going to beat the Rams in week two.
