Around the AFC South: Week 4
The Houston Texans improved to 3-1 with their 24-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. C.J. Stroud had a massive day throwing for 345 yards and two touchdowns. Nico Collins was Stroud’s favorite target hauling in 12 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. The Houston defense held the Jaguars to just 169 yards through the air. Trevor Lawrence was able to turn those 169 yards into two touchdowns in the loss. Rookie Brian Thomas Jr. has taken over as the WR1 for the Jaguars. He had six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. The loss dropped Jacksonville to 0-4. The Texans take on the Buffalo Bills in week five while the Jaguars host the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaking of the Colts, they got a big 27-24 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on the arm of Joe Flacco. He entered the game after Anthony Richardson went down with an injury and threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Michael Pittman led the Colts’ receivers with six catches for 113 yards. Jonathan Taylor added 108 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.
Brian Callahan got his first win as an NFL head coach when the Tennessee Titans beat the Miami Dolphins 31-12. Will Levis got hurt in the first quarter and Mason Rudolph led the Titans the rest of the way. He did not have to do much throwing for just 85 yards, but he took care of the football. The Titans scored more than 30 points in a game for the first time in over 1,000 days. They got over that hump on a late touchdown run by Tony Pollard. The Titans have their bye week in week five.
