Around the AFC South: Week 3

It was a tough Sunday for the Houston Texans who lost 34-7 to the Minnesota Vikings. C.J. Stroud threw for 215 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Stefon Diggs did have a nice game with ten catches for 94 yards. The Texans’ run game could not get going managing just 38 yards on 14 carries. Houston will look to get back on track Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Indianapolis Colts got their first win of the season 21-16 over the Chicago Bears. Jonathan Taylor carried the Colts’ offense gaining 110 yards on 23 carries and scoring two touchdowns. It was a tough day for Anthony Richardson who threw for just 167 yards and was intercepted twice. It’s been a rough start to the season for Richardson. The Colts host the Pittsburgh Steelers in week four.

The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to 0-3 when they got boat raced by the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football 47-10. Trevor Lawrence has yet to live up to that big contract he got this offseason. He threw for just 178 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Jacksonville is going to need better from Lawrence if they are going to make any type of run this season. It was a pretty good night for Christian Kirk who had eight catches for 79 yards.

Speaking of 0-3 teams, the Tennessee Titans dropped to 0-3 with their 30-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Will Levis had another devastating turnover with his second pick-six in the first three weeks. He did not get any help from his offensive line which allowed him to be sacked eight times on the afternoon. DeAndre Hopkins had his best game of the year recovering from a knee injury he suffered in training camp with six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. The Titans travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins on Monday Night Football this week.
