Around the AFC North: Week 8
The Pittsburgh Steelers made it three straight wins with their 26-18 win over the New York Giants. Russell Wilson played really well in his second start for the Steelers. He threw for 278 yards and a touchdown. George Pickens caught four passes for 43 yards. Najee Harris ran for 114 yards on 19 carries. The Pittsburgh defense sacked Daniel Jones four times and picked him off once. The Steelers have their bye in week nine.
Jameis Winston took over as the starter for the Cleveland Browns and led them to a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Winston threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns in the win. His favorite target was Cedric Tillman who caught seven passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Chubb saw his first game action of the 2024 season and rushed for 52 yards on 16 carries. For the Ravens, Derrick Henry made it eight straight games with a touchdown. He rushed for 73 yards in the loss. Lamar Jackson threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 46 yards. Zay Flowers had another big game with seven catches for 115 yards. The Browns host the Los Angeles Chargers in week nine while the Ravens host the Cleveland Browns.
The Cincinnati Bengals fell to 3-5 with their 37-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Joe Burrow threw for 234 yards with one touchdown and one interception. With Tee Higgins out, Ja’Marr Chase caught nine passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Mike Gesicki stepped up on National Tight End Day and caught seven balls for 73 yards. The Bengals defense had no answers for Jalen Hurts who accounted for four total touchdowns on the day. The Bengals play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
