Around the AFC North: Week 2

The Pittsburgh Steelers improved to 2-0 with a 13-6 win over the Denver Broncos. The Steelers put together a 12-play 78-yard touchdown drive in the first quarter and pretty much just took the air out of the ball from there. Justin Fields threw the ball just 20 times but completed 13 of those passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. The most important part of his day was that he did not turn the ball over. Pittsburgh ran the ball 26 times for 141 yards in the win. The Steelers will host the Los Angeles Chargers in week three.

For now, Deshaun Watson is still the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. He “led” his team to an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watson threw for 186 yards in the win. The Browns relied heavily on the run game gaining 125 yards on 29 carries. Their defense is so good that they will probably continue to use that formula as long as Watson is under center. Cleveland will host the New York Giants on Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens fell to 0-2 with their 26-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Zay Flowers had seven catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Lamar Jackson threw for 247 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also added 45 yards rushing on five carries. Derrick Henry had 84 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers would lead you to believe the Ravens would win but the defense gave up 13 fourth-quarter points that led to the loss. Things do not get any easier for the Ravens as they head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in week three.

A late field goal from the Kansas City Chiefs handed the Cincinnati Bengals a 26-25 loss at Arrowhead. Joe Burrow was very good in the loss throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes went to Andrei Iosivas. Ja’Marr Chase has been a non-factor in the first two games after missing all of training camp over a contract dispute. The Bengals will look to get their first win of the season when they take on the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football this week.
