Around the AFC East: Week 9
The Buffalo Bills extended their lead in the AFC East with a 30-27 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Josh Allen threw for 235 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Ray Davis only had two catches on the day, but those two catches went for 70 yards and a touchdown. Khalil Shakir had six catches for 50 yards. For the Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns. De’Von Achane had 121 total yards and two touchdowns. The Bills play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and the Dolphins play the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football this week.
The New York Jets broke their five-game losing streak with a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans. Aaron Rodgers threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns went to Garrett Wilson who ended the night with nine catches for 90 yards and those two touchdowns. The other touchdown went to Davante Adams who had a late score after returning from being checked for a potential concussion. The Jets’ defense had a great night sacking C.J. Stroud eight times. The Jets travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in week 10.
Drake Maye found Rhamondre Stevenson on the last play of regulation to tie the game against the Tennessee Titans at 17, but they Patriots would fall 20-17 in overtime. Maye, who cleared concussion protocol on Saturday to get the start threw for 206 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also rushed for 95 yards in the loss. Hunter Henry led the New England pass catchers with seven catches for 56 yards. The Patriots will play the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
