Around the AFC East: Week 5
It was a second straight loss for the Buffalo Bills when they fell 23-20 to the Houston Texans on Sunday. Josh Allen struggled quite a bit in this one completing just 9 of his 30 pass attempts for 131 yards and a touchdown. Allen did fare much better with his legs carrying the ball four times for 54 yards. Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman had just one catch but it went for a 49-yard touchdown. The Bills take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in week six.
Speaking of the Jets, they traveled to London and lost 23-17 to the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings. Garrett Wilson saw 22 targets in this game and turned them into 13 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns but also threw three interceptions in the loss. The Jets’ run game was all but eliminated from this game. They gained just 36 yards on 13 carries. Even with the Jets’ early struggles, a win next Monday would pull them into a tie for the division lead.
The Miami Dolphins finally got a win 15-10 over the New England Patriots. The offense continues to struggle without Tua Tungovailoa. Tyler Huntley started and threw for 194 yards and an interception. The Dolphins were content just to keep the ball on the ground here. They ran 41 times for 193 yards and a touchdown in the win. For the Patriots, the offensive struggles continued. Jacoby Brissett completed 18 of his 34 passing attempts for 160 yards. Rhamondre Stevenson, who did not get the start because of his fumbling issues to start this season, ended up leading the running backs with 20 total touches. The Dolphins have their bye next week while the Patriots play the Houston Texans.
