Around the AFC East: Week 3
The Buffalo Bills look like a legit Super Bowl contender through three weeks. They improved to 3-0 with a 47-10 dismantling of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Josh Allen was fantastic throwing for 263 yards and four touchdowns. He added 44 yards on the ground. He spread the ball around to ten different pass catchers in the win. The Bills have a big matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football in week four.
Aaron Rodgers looked all the way back in the New York Jets 24-3 win over the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The veteran quarterback threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Eight different pass catchers caught a pass in the win. Tight end Tyler Conklin led the way with five catches for 93 yards. On the Patriots’ side, it might be time for New England to hand the reigns over to Drake Maye. Jacoby Brissett threw for just 98 yards before being replaced by Maye late in the game. Maye completed four of his eight attempts for 22 yards. The two quarterbacks combined to be sacked seven times on the evening. The Jets host the Denver Broncos in week four while the Patriots travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers.
Life without Tua Tagovailoa proved tough for the Miami Dolphins in their 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The normal high-flying Mike McDaniel’s passing game had just 140 yards passing int this one. That is what happens when they are running Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle out there at quarterback. Devon Achane was not able to get anything going on the ground gaining just 30 yards on 11 carries. Star receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle combined for just 66 yards on seven catches. The Dolphins play the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football next week.
