Around the AFC East: Week 17

The Buffalo Bills improved to 13-3 on the season with their 40-14 win over the New York Jets on Sunday. Josh Allen accounted for three touchdowns – two passing and one rushing. Allen spread the ball around to eight different receivers on the day. None of them had more than three catches. For the Jets, Aaron Rodgers threw for 112 yards and two interceptions before leaving the game due to an injury. Tyrod Taylor replaced him and threw two touchdown passes. Garrett Wilson led the way for the Jets receivers with seven catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. The Bills wrap up the regular season this week against the New England Patriots while the Jets play the Miami Dolphins.

Speaking of the Dolphins, they kept their playoff hopes alive with a 20-3 win over the Cleveland Browns. Tua Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle both missed the game due to injuries. Tyler Huntley filled in for Tua and threw for 225 yards and a touchdown. Huntley also ran for 52 yards. Tyreek Hill had a big day with nine catches for 105 yards. The Dolphins need a week 18 win and a Denver Broncos loss to make the playoffs.

The Patriots dropped to 3-13 on the season with their 40-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Drake Maye was evaluated for a concussion in the first quarter but came back after missing just one series. He threw for 117 yards and a touchdown. With their loss and the New York Giants win, the Patriots currently hold the top spot in the 2025 NFL Draft.
