AJ Styles Returns to WWE Smackdown

“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles came back to WWE on last night’s Smackdown, and Carmelo Hayes wasted no time stepping up to him.

Styles had been missing since losing to WWE champion Cody Rhodes at Backlash France. He expressed regret over the “fake retirement” and attack on the champion before that match.

Hayes showed up and insulted Styles but turned down a match because he doesn’t “wrestle quitters.”

US champion LA Knight changed that tune by offering Hayes a title shot if he could beat Styles. Hayes won via referee stoppage due to Styles’ leg injury.

DOWN IN THE DUMPS

Michin defeated Chelsea Green in a dumpster match by smashing her through a table into the dumpster. When Green emerged, she was covered in garbage.

Naomi remained in title contention with a win over “Miss Money in the Bank” Tiffany Stratton.

The Bloodline duo of Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa retained the WWE tag team title in the main event. They won a three-way ladder match over #DIY and The Street Profits.

BAD BLOOD

Tonight’s Bad Blood event will air exactly 27 years after the original, which featured the first Hell in a Cell match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will kick off their show with their Hell in a Cell match. The main event will be Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu.

Other Bad Blood bouts include Damien Priest vs. Finn Balor; WWE women’s champion Nia Jax vs. Bayley; and World women’s champion Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley with Dominick Mysterio in a shark cage.
