AEW Dynamite: Orange Cassidy Gets Tough Before Full Gear

Orange Cassidy will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World title at the Full Gear pay-per-view on Saturday in Newark, N.J.

The laid-back Cassidy instructed his friends in the Conglomeration to stay in the back for his main event match with Wheeler Yuta on last night’s Dynamite in Reading, Pa.

Cassidy scored the victory, but the rest of Moxley’s Death Riders attacked him and duct-taped him after the match.

Claudio Castagnoli was victorious for the Death Riders, as he defeated Darby Allin. Claudio slammed Darby through the announcers’ table before winning with a clothesline.

EIGHT-MAN MADNESS

Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, Brian Cage & Lance Archer won the opener over Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, Mark Davis & Ricochet.

Davis, who used to team with Fletcher as Aussie Open, was returning after more than a year’s absence due to injury, and Takeshita pinned him after a knee strike.

Kris Statlander defeated three-time former AEW women’s champion Hikaru Shida. Statlander will challenge Mercedes Mone for the TBS title at Full Gear.

Bobby Lashley competed in AEW for the first time to prepare for his Full Gear match with Swerve Strickland. Lashley defeated Joe Keys & Cheeseburger in a handicap match.

Next week on Dynamite, Chris Jericho will defend the Ring Of Honor championship against Tomohiro Ishii of the Conglomeration.
