AEW Dynamite: Jeff Jarrett Doesn’t Retire and Ricochet Goes Psycho

Jeff Jarrett came to the ring last night on AEW Dynamite with his boots in his hand, talking about his family’s 70-year history in pro wrestling.

Did “The Last Outlaw” retire? No!

Instead, the 57-year-old Jarrett said he had signed one more wrestling contract and was gunning for the AEW World title.

Jarrett has been wrestling since the late 1980s. He has won three WWF Intercontinental titles and 4 WCW titles.

SCISSORS ATTACK

Ricochet revealed his sinister side when he attacked Swerve Strickland with a pair of scissors during a three-way bout.

While Swerve was bleeding outside the ring, “Switchblade” Jay White pinned Roderick Strong to earn the No. 1 spot in next week’s Casino Gauntlet match for a World title shot.

Drawing No. 1 is not a disadvantage like in the Royal Rumble. Since the match can end at any time, it avoids a wrestler sitting in the back with No. 15 and watching someone else win.

OTHER ACTION

“Hangman” Adam Page defeated Orange Cassidy in the opening match of the “Stream on Max” era. Hangman won with the Buckshot lariat.

Anthony Bowens walked out on Max Caster during their loss to Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin. Bowens wasn’t being a jerk; he was disgusted the Caster was hogging all of the match time.

On commentary, MVP said he was no longer interested in Caster as a member of The Hurt Syndicate.

Julia Hart defeated former AEW women’s champion Jamie Hayter after blowing mist in her eyes. Hayter needs to be careful; that usually makes you “turn bad.”

Powerhouse Hobbs squashed Rob Killjoy & Jon Cruz and pinned them at the same time.

In the main event, FTR pleased their hometown fans in Asheville, N.C., by teaming with “The Rated-R Superstar” Adam Copeland to beat The Death Riders.

Copeland used to be Edge in WWE and now is just going by “Cope.” He speared Wheeler Yuta to score the pinfall.
