AEW Dynamite: Hangman Reveals Plans to Regain World Championship
“Hangman” Adam Page is a complicated guy. At one point, he looked like he would become AEW’s very own “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Then his feud with Swerve Strickland pushed him into madness and nationally televised arson.
Even though Page lost to Jay White for the second time at Full Gear, he had a plan to celebrate Thanksgiving as the AEW World champion.
Page and Christian attacked Jon Moxley and the Death Riders after Moxley’s successful title defense against Orange Cassidy at Full Gear.
White also got involved in the scrum, and Christian was unable to cash in his contract for an instant title shot.
Page revealed on last night’s Dynamite that he had reached an agreement with Christian to help him win the championship in exchange for a shot at the title on Dynamite.
Those plans went up in smoke, but Page said he still wanted to regain the AEW belt. White came out to brag about his two wins over Page, only to be attacked by The Death Riders.
CONTINENTAL KICKOFF
Shelton Benjamin opened Blue League action in the Continental Classic with a victory over Mark Briscoe. That’s three points for Benjamin.
In the Gold League, Claudio Castagnoli beat Ricochet as the fans chanted “Bald Forever” at both men.
Brody King beat Darby Allin in the main event. Allin was still injured from deliberately crashing his car into Moxley’s truck at the end of Full Gear. King and Castagnoli are on top of the Gold League with three points apiece.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN
Another tournament got underway on Dynamite as Jamie Hayter defeated Queen Aminata.
Hayter advanced in the tournament for a spot in the International Women’s Four-Way at New Japan Wrestle Dynasty on Jan. 5 in Tokyo.
Willow Nightingale will take on Serena Deeb on the Dec. 7 Collision in Columbus, Ohio, in the other semifinal.
The winner of the AEW tournament will face representatives from Ring Of Honor, CMLL, and Stardom in Tokyo.
ROH TITLE MATCH
Chris Jericho retained the Ring Of Honor World title with a win over Tomohiro Ishii after hitting two “Judas Effect” backfists.
Collision will feature more Continental Classic action, starting at 4 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. A special Lucha Libre-themed hour of Rampage will start at 6 p.m. and go head-to-head with the WWE Survivor Series.
