AEW Collision: Welcome (Back), Toni Storm
Toni Storm made her triumphant return to AEW this week, and she has a lot going on in her head.
Storm is a three-time AEW women’s champion, and “Timeless” Toni seemed to think she was a movie queen from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
All of that came crashing down when she lost the title to former protégé Mariah May, mirroring the classic movie “All About Eve.”
May defeated Mina Shirakawa to retain the title this week on Dynamite, and Storm returned at the end of the show in her original “rock chick” outfit.
Storm defeated Harley Cameron on Friday’s Rampage. She scored another win last night on Collision over Shazza McKenzie.
Here’s where things get weird. Storm declared that she was “All Elite” and later introduced herself to announcer Tony Schiavone.
So now it seems like Storm has amnesia and thinks she is just starting her AEW career.
CONTINENTAL CLASSIC
Kazuchika Okada defeated The Beast Mortos with the Rainmaker lariat. Okada has seven points in the Continental Classic Blue League, while the scoreless Mortos has been eliminated.
Mark Briscoe defeated Kyle Fletcher, who had cruised to first place in the Blue League with nine points. Briscoe is up to six points.
TOKYO BOUND
Willow Nightingale defeated Jamie Hayter to qualify as AEW’s representative in the International four-way at Wrestle Dynasty on Jan. 5 in Tokyo.
Her opponents will be Athena from Ring Of Honor, Persephone from CMLL in Mexico, and a representative from Stardom in Japan.
Action Andretti & Lio Rush came to the ring in puffy, spiky jackets. They beat Top Flight to earn a tag team title bout against Private Party.
Kris Statlander scored a quick win over St. Louis favorite Tootie Lynn.
In the crowd-pleasing match of the night, Orange Cassidy teamed with Daniel Garcia, Komander & The Outrunners to beat MxM Collection & The Premier Athletes.
WORLD’S END IS COMING
Thunder Rosa challenged Mariah May to a Tijuana Street Fight at the World’s End pay-per-view on Dec. 28 in Orlando, Fla.
Also on that show, Powerhouse Hobbs will challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International title.
Before Collision went off the air, The Death Riders attacked FTR. This should lead to a bout on the Fight for the Fallen Dynamite on Jan. 1.
That episode will be the beginning of Dynamite being simulcast on TBS and streaming on HBO Max.
