AEW Collision: My Friends Can Beat Your Friends

Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy will battle for the AEW World title at Full Gear on Nov. 23. Their friends battled for the trios championship last night on Collision.

Moxley’s Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, & Wheeler Yuta) defeated Cassidy’s Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii) to retain the championship.

Yuta pinned O’Reilly after the Busaiku Knee Kick. That used to be Bryan Danielson’s finisher, but Moxley turned against Danielson and ended his AEW title reign and career last month at WrestleDream.

House of Black defeated The Iron Savages & Jacked Jamison. FTR asked which House members would face them in the Full Gear contenders’ challenge, and the answer was Malachi Black & Brody King.

The Outrunners advanced to the Full Gear four-way title match with a victory over Top Flight. Does that mean that power-based, “1980s muscle-guy” offense is better than modern high-flying?

BEAST ON A LEASH

Roderick Strong defeated his friend, The Beast Mortos, whom he calls “Frank.” The beast was hesitant to attack Strong, who will face Lance Archer in a Falls Count Anywhere match on Dynamite.

If Strong wins, he will wrestle MJF at Full Gear. Adam Cole also needs one more win to get into the MJF match.

Kris Statlander squashed Ashley Vox, only to be attacked after the match by TBS champion Mercedes Mone.

Jack Perry retained his TNT title with a win over Action Andretti. After the match, Daniel Garcia called Perry a “nepo baby” and challenged him for the title.

(You probably know this, but Perry’s dad was Luke Perry, who played Dylan on Beverly Hills 90210).

Speaking of people with deceased fathers, Nick Wayne defeated AR Fox. Instead of empathizing with Fox, Wayne stapled a photo of Fox and his father to Fox’s face!

Obviously, Wayne has learned from his new “father figure,” Christian, whose entire gimmick is making fun of people whose fathers have passed away.
