A Look San Francisco Giants Rotation Without Roki Sasaki
The Japanese superstar pitcher Roki Sasaki is close to a decision and the San Francisco Giants have been told they are not in the running.
The Giants have been in search of big-time players for years now. The team has been looking to add in free agency but has had a difficult time getting players to take their money. That changed a bit with Willy Adames signing the largest deal in team history this offseason.
In the rotation, the Giants added Justin Verlander on a one-year deal. This adds been more depth and star power to a rotation that will look to keep the Giants competitive out West.
Below, check out the projected rotation for the 2025 season:
- Logan Webb
- Robbie Ray
- Justin Verlander
- Jordan Hicks
- Kyle Harrison
Logan Webb has quietly been one of the best and most consistent starters in the National League over the last few years. He has elite off speed and knows how to keep hitters off balance. He pitched a 3.49 ERA last season and is expected to be a consistent arm at the top of the rotation once again. He has made over 30 starts in each of the last three years.
Robbie Ray was a big-time addition for the Giants last offseason. He has struggled with injuries over the last few years but when healthy, Ray is an explosive arm that can provide valuable innings for San Francisco. Like Verlander, there are injury concerns around Ray but that is why the Giants focused on adding depth.
The rotation is rounded out by Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison. At this point of the offseason, there are not many arms available via free agency. That does not mean the team has to give up on trade talks with potential suitors.
What we do know is that San Francisco is willing to spend the money and will exhaust all options to build a winner. Without Sasaki, there are other players that could be on the team’s radar.
