A look at Browns Rookie DT Michael Hall

Last April in the NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns had their first pick in the second round and drafted Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Hall. He was selected with the 54th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The 300-pound rookie defensive tackle just turned 21 years old on June 13th this year. He stands at 6’3” tall and is a young player that was drafted for the future of this team.

When Cleveland Browns General Manager Andrew Berry drafts players, he implements a strategy of development for the future. This was no different concerning Michael Hall.  Hall was a standout interior defensive lineman at Ohio State from 2021-2023. He was a 2 time All Big Ten Third Team Player. He is an interior pass rush specialist who was drafted to be future mainstay and starter for the Cleveland Browns. The question is when can Browns fans see him play?

This Saturday August 10th the Cleveland Browns will be hosting the Green Bay Packers for the first preseason game of the 2024 season. Many starters and veteran players for the Browns will play very little or not at all in the preseason games. This gives rookies and young player an opportunity to show what they can do. And DT Michael Hall will take advantage of that opportunity. But what can be expected of the young rookie?

Hall was recruited to Ohio State from Streetsboro Ohio. He is from the northeast Ohio area. He understands the concept of having to prove himself when it comes to football in Ohio, and especially in Cleveland. I would expect Hall to get quality game reps in the preseason. NFL game experience can be his best teacher. He was given praise in training camp by Browns veteran players too. When he was drafted by the Browns it was with the future in mind.  And for this young man and the Cleveland Browns the future looks bright.
