4 Super Bowl Matchups Everyone Wants To See This Season

The 2024-25 NFL season is at its midway point and this means teams have started to separate themselves from the pack.

There are nine games in the books and teams are beginning to believe they can make a deep playoff run. When it is all said and done, there are certain matchups that would be more fun than others.

Below, check out four Super Bowl matchups that would excite the football world.

4. Buffalo Bills vs. Atlanta Falcons

Let’s start it off with a complete wild-card, dark-horse contest.

Kirk Cousins has played on some good teams in Minnesota. Before that, he was on a division-winning team in Washington. Neither was perfect at any point and this has not allowed Cousins to make a playoff run, despite putting up gaudy numbers. Now, he is surrounded by weapons in Atlanta.

As for the Bills, this is another team that has been unable to get to the next level. Josh Allen and Buffalo have run into Kansas City too many times and cannot get over the hump.

How entertaining would it be to see two dark-horse teams meet in the biggest game of the year?

3. Washington Commanders vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Commanders are the biggest surprise of the season thus far. At 7-2, Washington decided to buy at the deadline and acquire corner Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints. Is this the move that can take the Commanders through the NFC? That is yet to be seen and there is plenty of reason to be skeptical.

With that being said, if Washington did make a run, a rematch with Baltimore would be as exciting as it gets.

The two teams with similar quarterbacks that are less than 50 miles away from each other. Jayden Daniels has drawn comparisons to Lamar Jackson in what has been an incredible rookie year. Both defenses have struggled at times but the two offenses have a dynamic ability to light up the scoreboard.

2. Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Lions have looked like the best team in the NFC to this point of the season. At 7-1, Detroit has been dominant offensively led by MVP-front-runner Jared Goff. The offensive weapons are as deep as there is in the league.

Imagine Dan Campbell and his Lions taking on the dynastic Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have not played their best football just yet. That is a scary thought considering the team is the only unbeaten left at 8-0.

A matchup between the underdog Lions and powerhouse Chiefs would bring plenty of intrigue.

1. Baltimore Ravens vs. Detroit Lions

Finally, the best matchup right now looks like Baltimore and Detroit.

This is basically because of the offensive firepower that would be on display. Derrick Henry would make his first appearance in the Super Bowl. The Ravens have been unable to get to that next level but have their best chance this season. As for Detroit, it was one step away last season before blowing a second-half lead in San Francisco.

Are fans beginning to get saturated with Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Chiefs? The popular opinion would like to see different teams in the mix. If nothing else, this is a reason many might like to see this matchup.

From a football standpoint, this might be the best game we could get this season.
