3 Players We’d Love to See Win Their First World Series
It does not matter the sport, but there will always be players that have not won a ring but you’d love to see them win a ring. Across all sports, there were all-time greats that have never won a ring and certainly deserved one. When we look at the current players in Major League Baseball, there are some great players that have yet tasted the greatness that is winning a World Series.
For this exercise, let’s take a dive into some players that I’d love to see win a ring in 2025.
Bryce Harper
This one might be my favorite of the bunch. Bryce Harper has been one of the top players in the sport since emerging into the scene in 2012. He has been consistent and has created memories that have lasted a lifetime. The irony in him leaving the Washington Nationals is that they won a title immediately after. Now, he’s been a focal point of the Phillies offense and has seemingly tried to get them to the World Series.
It all started in 2022. That’s where the party began for the Phillies and where the Bryce Harper era has taken a turn for the best. Harper had his playoff moment and the swing of his life that sent the Phillies to the World Series. Since then, they lost in the NLCS (2023) and then the NLDS (2024).
The time is now to win for the Phillies. Very rare do you see a player truly embrace the City he signs with. Bringing a championship to the City of Brotherly Love would mean everything to Harper. He is truly one of the greats for this sport. He has been one of the best players in this sport and winning a ring would cement his legacy, not just in baseball, but in Philly.
“I want to be on Broad Street, freakin’ on a boat, a bus, or whatever it is,’’ Harper said, “that’s what it is all about. I want to bring a trophy back to the Philadelphia Phillies organization and to the whole city of Philly.
“I want my legacy to be all about winning, all about playing the game the right way, for a great organization, and for a long period of time.’’
This was back in 2019 when he signed with Philly and at this point seeing him on a boat would be great as a baseball fan.
Aaron Judge
The successor to the throne you could say. The Captain of the New York Yankees is also one of the best players in the sport. Aaron Judge and his raw power make him appointment television.
He truly is one of the best players in the sport, especially since he made his debut in 2016. Since 2016, Judge has the highest slugging percentage (.604), and became the first player since 2004 (Barry Bonds) to slug above .700 (2024). Judge has the highest OPS since 2016 and the highest wRC+. He is a machine at the plate and the best hitter in the sport. Also, he has hit the most home runs, with the next closest player sitting at 274 compared to his 315.
He is one of the best players in the sport, but all he is missing is a ring of his own. The Yankees got a taste of the World Series for the first time since 2009 in 2024. As a baseball fan, you’d love to see the great ones win a ring cause at the end of the day when retirement comes that’s all that will be talked about.
Now, Judge has some of the worst playoff numbers, but still a tremendous talent that certainly deserves a ring.
Bobby Witt Jr
Granted, he has not been in the league nearly as long as the two above, but Bobby Witt Jr is one of the most electrifying players in the sport. He is a phenomenal bat, solid defender, and has blazing sprint speed to get him around the bases.
Witt Jr has managed to have two straight 30/30 seasons, meaning he has hit 30 home runs and stolen 30 bases. He’s made history in that regard, becoming the first short stop to reach that milestone. But he is much more than those milestones.
Witt Jr is the face of the franchise and the iconic presence for the Kansas City Royals. Not only have they paid him handsomely, but they’ve begun to put a more competitive roster together in order to compete for a championship.
Sure, they aren’t on the Dodgers level of spending, but they’ve made proper moves to form a well rounded roster. They had the second best rotation in baseball and even reached the ALDS before being eliminated by the Yankees.
With a wide open AL, seeing the Royals go the distance would be fun and seeing one of the most electrifying players in the sport win a ring would be amazing.
Witt Jr was an MVP finalist last season, so seeing him continue at that level on the biggest stage is a treat for baseball fans all around.
