3 Best Trade Destinations For Garrett Crochet

Garrett Crochet turned into one of the best starters in the American League this season.

The 25-year-old left-hander finished with a 3.58 ERA for a Chicago White Sox team that was among the worst of all-time. Now, Crochet is likely to be traded during the Winter Meetings in Dallas this week.

There will be plenty of teams interested in a long-term starter at a young age. Crochet is under team control for the next two years before he hits free agency in 2027.

Below, check out three teams that could be in the mix for Crochet this offseason.

New York Yankees

Is it desperation time for the Yankees? New York missed out on Juan Soto in free agency after he spent 2024 in pinstripes. Now, the team will have to pivot but remains interested in adding starting pitching once again. This has been a priority for the Yankees year after year since acquiring Gerrit Cole. The team has been linked to names such as Corbin Burnes and Max Fried but it could opt for a trade instead. The problem is, the Yankees do not have much to offer the White Sox and it will take a lofty package. With that being said, all reports claim that New York is aggressive in pursuing Crochet.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are another team that could be entering desperation mode. It has been just two years since the team made a surprising run to the World Series. Since then, Philadelphia has gone backwards and that includes a loss in the NLDS this season. Zack Wheeler signed a contract extension and the addition of Crochet could create one of the best 1-2 punches in the league. Just how much can the Phillies offer? That is yet to be seen but this is a team that has shown interest in starting pitching.

New York Mets

The Mets made the biggest splash of the offseason by adding Soto in free agency. There are many reports claiming that New York is not done just yet. While there are some free-agent targets that could fit the future, Crochet could come to the team in a trade. The Mets do not have a top-of-the-line starting pitcher at the moment. David Stearns has not been willing to add pitching on long-term deals. Right now, Crochet is going through arbitration for two more years and will not require a deal just yet. Also, the Mets have a loaded farm system that can put together a package to acquire the left-hander. The Mets might be the perfect fit for the White Sox and Crochet this week.
