3 Best Head Coaching Options For New York Jets

The New York Jets were the first team to fire their head coach this season.

The question is, will this be an attractive destination? There are many problems in New York right now and it begins at the top with owner Woody Johnson.

Aaron Rodgers’ future is in question and even if he returns, the Jets are not guaranteed to do much with an overrated roster.

Nonetheless, there will be a head coach in New York next season and these three options could be at the top of the list.

3. Aaron Glenn

Aaron Glenn is a defensive, first-time head coaching candidate. This is not exactly something new when you look at the history of the Jets including Rex Ryan, Todd Bowles, and Robert Saleh. Not exactly a lot to brag about there. For what it’s worth, bringing Ryan back would be a major mistake for the franchise but we are not here to discuss that.

As for Glenn, he was a hot candidate last year and will be once again. The Lions are the next successful team going to be pilfered of coordinators and Glenn is made to be great. Plus, he is a former Jet and knows what it’s like to be in New York.

2. Mike Vrabel

The Jets need a leader within the organization. That is what these next two are going to be. Of course, Vrabel is at the top of many lists and has already interviewed for the position. He has had success at this level before and commands the room when he walks in. This is what is needed in New York. If Vrabel does not go back to New England, he could be the perfect fit for the Jets.

1. Brian Flores

Brian Flores comes with his own personality and way of doing things. That is exactly what the Jets need — a coach who won’t take any nonsense that has been there for over a decade. Flores has turned into one of the league’s best defensive coordinators in Minnesota and had success in Miami during his time as head coach. Flores is the type of coach that comes with his own way of doing things and a proven track record.
