2024 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings: How Long To Wait On A QB?

The quarterback position is one that uses the mot strategy year in and year out in fantasy drafts around the country.

There is just one quarterback per team and the question is, how long should you wait to find the right one? Each year, many of the top available quarterbacks make their way into the later rounds because of the important of adding flex players.

Who are the top options to reach for?

The top of the quarterback rankings looks the same as years past. Josh Allen is considered the consensus top quarterback in fantasy while other dual-threats, such as Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson, are going early as well. Once Patrick Mahomes is taken in your league, there is some time to wait before finding the right option.

Who to avoid?

There are always injury concerns at the quarterback position and we know who those players are. Joe Burrow and Kirk Cousins owners saw this come about last season. This year, it’s the players coming off an injury that are ones to keep an eye on. Anthony Richardson and Kyler Murray are both expected to return this season after missing almost all of 2023. As running quarterbacks, both provide risks coming off injuries.

Who will emerge?

Jayden Daniels is among those who could be considered a league winner for teams who take a chance. The rookie has been named QB1 in Washington and has the ability to put up big numbers in many ways. He rushed for over 2,000 yards during his last two years at LSU. The same can be said about fellow rookie Caleb Williams. He has a strong group of skill position players to work with this year. While the rookie class could be viable options, Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford continue to fall in drafts and could be steals in the later rounds.
